I apparently did when I wrote Sanya's opening post instead of you, Cole.

More than one person is at fault for this, so I suggest that everyone goes through here again; if it's not a character that you posted to play, DON'T PLAY as them unless you have permission from the respective player.

If a character does not have an assigned player, then they are free game for anyone that would like to use them, unless otherwise stated by SeanHiruki.

Oh.

Just to be clear, Warboss Spriggs, I was looking for someone to narrate an introduction for me. I'm reasonably sure I requested this, and I felt Indy's introduction didn't compel my character's behavior in any way.

I'm just being clear about this; if you asked him to do it, then it's fine.

Sanya

Sanya curses again. Nicodemus is on his way to Chicago, and has an hour's start on him to perform all sorts of nasty shenanigans. And Sanya can't...

Sanya pulls out his cell phone. He dials Harry's place.

Nada.

His office.

Zip.

As an afterthought, he tries dialing McAnallys...

[Is that a bit metagamey? There's no canonical detail suggesting that Sanya's been to McAnally's before. If you feel it's metagamey, I'll change it to...]

Sanya then tries dialing Michael's house. At the very least he can warn one of his closest friends.

I should probably add in another character. Don't know who to pick yet, though. Unfortunately.

Speaking of which...Warboss, would you like an introduction for one of your characters? I think I can finagle getting the Winter assassin into the picture.

Alphonse being Al Capone, of course. I have no doubt that Nicodemus has met nearly every notorious figure of every century.

Absolutely.

Do you find my characterization of his motives convincing? Because the way I see it, it makes sense. He's related to Vlad, and origonally was one of his thralls. He was protected, nurtured and taught how to kill by the man, and so feels he owes him his life. And being Kincaid, he cannot refuse a debt or obligation, so still works for him when passed orders.

Though alternatively, Kincaid does note that he isn't the Hellhound and Vlad's right hand anymore. So there has to be some sort of bad blood between them.

I imagine it as pragmatism. He won't alienate Vlad by refusing to work for him, but at the same time would rather go his own way and do his own thing, as he saw, with perfect clarity, that powerful as Vlad is, he isn't going anywhere and it's only a matter of time before he loses even that.

But perhaps there is something more personal in there as well.

*Twiddles Thumbs*

At the moment, my character's actions are predicated on Harry Dresden's own actions.

So it's the waiting game for me.

I figure that's the sort of thing Marcone would do. He needs a secure place to direct things from, and so his house and his office are protected. And Gard has shown herself to be terrifyingly adapt at making wards.

Obviously. Deidre's very direct and very physical. Just like her mother.

Frankly, the fact that I can imagine their precise familial relationships is very disturbing.

Marcone is now considering whether he should call Nicodemus, or call Sanya.

Re: The Dresden Files: Caught in the Undertow

I just read Dead Beat again, and I can only say that, if the plot is going the way I think it is, I would like to play Cowl. Some competition for Nicodemus, you understand, and if Tessa really is helping 'the circle' it seems only natural that the enigmatic man would show up and offer his assistance.
Plus, he's awesome.

Cowl

Name: Unknown. He has made considerable lengths to make sure it is completely forgotten, and he is unidentifiable.
Age: He was trained by both Kremmlar (who taught him necromancy), Abdul Alzaharad (who showed him what lay beyond the gate), and Nimune (He has never revealed what she taught him). He also has some lessons of his own to teach.
Gender: Male
Race: Human (wizard)
Rank: He is an enigmatic figure, who reveals little of his motives. Suffice to say, he appears to be a member of the Dark Council, and appears to have a hand in most of their major operations.
Skills and Spells: His speciality is hacking into the borders that govern the world, and distorting them. This allows him to do things that most wizards couldn't even try, deflect Death Curses, slow time, not just perception, and curve forces. It also allows him to wander the paths of the Nevernever and tap into forces greater then almost any wizard can equal, including most members of the senior council.
Kremmler was careful to keep his students at odds, knowing that if they fought each other they would never be in a position to come after him. As such he divided his knowledge among them equally. Zombies, spirits and ghosts and the manipulation of souls at their most fundamental level, vampires, and ghouls. Cowl learned to speak to ghouls, and how to command them. He has an army of the most ancient of them willing to follow his commands as long as they lead to a feast of bloodletting.
He has a talent for lateral thinking, rarely leaves himself exposed, and never lets his emotions cloud his judgement. He is also aware that there is always additional solutions to a problem.
He is multi-lingual, speaking many tongues long forgotten by humanity, some of which we do not even have the correct mouth parts to pronounce.
Weapons: He has a staff of ebony that is curiously without rues of power or carvings of any description. Instead, it is marked with notches, each no more then half a centimeter apart, with no clear pattern to them.
Appearance (Picture or description): He is as tall as Dresden, has a dry, somewhat condescending tone, and treats everyone with an old-fashioned respect. His features are well hidden, and he takes an effort to keep them so.
